Tools are made from different grades of steel. Some of the steel is softer than others, and consequently gets blunt a lot faster. These are also the cheaper tools. If you only have a handful of trees, then the cheap tool will suffice. However if you need tools for hard woods, it is advisable to buy tools with carbon steel or manganese composite blades.
